Diablo 4's Next Update: A Higher Difficulty Cap and a Halved Endgame Grind

Blizzard's upcoming patch overhauls endgame grinding and cranks up the difficulty

Diablo 4's next update is packed with changes that should entice new players and veterans alike.

Revealed in a recent developer update, the Sanctuary of Terror patch introduces a ton of quality-of-life changes and balance tweaks, but the headline additions are all about endgame content.

Let's dive right into it.

An easier endgame grind

Diablo 4's endgame grind is infamous for demanding tons of time from players. The upcoming update, however, will introduce what Blizzard is calling an "Accelerated Endgame Leveling System".

This system will allow new players to reach endgame level 100 in roughly half the time it currently takes.

Cranked-up difficulty

If you're a Diablo veteran hungry for more of a challenge, the Sanctuary of Terror update has you covered.

Blizzard is adding five new Hell difficulty tiers beyond Torment 16, the current max difficulty.
